Pods? Worms? You make the call...

These have been popping up on the LR. Look like pods or maybe early stage worm tubes, but being new at this FOWLR thing, I'm only guessing.

"Tubes" are maybe 1/8" in length and are mostly clear.

I thought so too, but haven't seen any fans (althought I haven't snuck up on them in the wee hours) and they appear "fuzzy" rather than a well defined, single tube.

hmmmm, maybe not, could be some sponge, hard to tell without a better pic.

A bunch of encrusting sponges have taken up residence...perhaps you are right and these are cousins of some variety. There goes the neighborhood!

I'll work on improved pics and repost (maybe I'll get an X-Mas present early?!?!?)
