Random Clam Showed Up

Am I growing clams all of a sudden? What is this? It just showed up.

A bi valve for sure, but there isn’t anything living there. It would t be ok laying like that.
Usually you’ll find such attached to your rock. Saltwater can be corrosive and likely finally was enough and the shell broke free from the rock it was attached to due to no longer being living.

looks like one of the feeder clams I feed my wrasses
it could have hitched in on the rock fell off after being banged around
they dont do good in the tank other than being food as they are a cold water clam species

**UPDATE**

So, I had to remove all of my rock tonight to make room for more substrate and I decided to take this guy out and set him with the rest of my inverts outside of water. The inverts are cool but this shell dried out and broke apart. It was empty. Just a hard semi- translucent shell that was brittle.
