yea, yout goingto have to be patient and creative with the mantis, unless you just take everything out and do it that way.. as far as the stars go..I have them in my tank and they have yet to touch anything in my tank..you can possibly invest in a harlequin shrimp, they eat stars, not sure if they eat asterinas though
