I have a tank still in the setup phase. Found this guy on the base of my powerhead. Must have come in on one of the live rocks. Trying to figure out what it is and if he can stay or needs to go.

Bristle worm do not touch it it might be venemos i gf just got stung by one

After googling bristle worm, that's him. Time to do some research. Thanks.

Dont get stung i heared it really hurts but there are traps that can catch them

Right now he's just hanging out but if he starts messing with anything he's probably going to find a new home. As long as he's doing his part cleaning up and doesn't overrun the tank, I'm good with it.

Everything I've read online says the same thing. Handle with gloves.

You don't by any means need to remove it. They're a beneficial part of any CUC...

Right on...they can sting, but the big ones are the worst. Can grow up to 4-5"
I don't like them, but they don't really harm anything as I can tell. The wrasse patrol in my reef eat them. But they show up in the algae scrubber and refugium.
