sponge?

found this growing on the underside of some liverock. It is about 2 inches square. Sponge? Can you have too many?

I cant realy see from that picture, maybe is you zoomed it. If it is a sponge it doesnt realy matter how much you have, but if you dont like the way it loooks or you have too much or some thing, you can always cut it with a sharp razor blade.

I have the same stuff growing on the underside of one of my rocks... About the same size as you discribed also.

Hara, I believe it is a type of sponge... I have some growing at work and at home that looks just like that...The stuff at home has taken over about 8 sq in of space under rocks.. I find it cool looking to an extent but, if I get tired of it, or it spreads much more, I will try the razor suggestion above...
