Starfish

I looked into my tank just moments ago, and saw my starfish up on the glass. There is something coming out of it's center. What is it? My first thought was that it was laying eggs (I just got it a week or 2 ago.) but I wasn't sure. Here is a pic.

looks like it might be its stomach. they expel their stomachs when they eat something.

Agreed that it is it`s stomach. as mentioned it is how they eat.
