Starfish and slimey stuff came with live rock

I got some live rock from a fellow reefer, and I got some little start fish with it. 6 legs, white.

Also some slime which I'm thinking maybe a sponge?

Google red slim algae to get a better ID

It can be removed by siphoning and scrubbing with a tooth brush at the same time

the white stuff is sponge it's good but it needs to be controlled as over time it can sufficate coral

as for the stars I say suck them out as they multiply fast ( some also eat zoa's ')
there more a nuisance than there worth IMO

The red in the pictures isn't slimey, it's just there.. I don't think it's red slime algae.

Does the sponge need anything special? Or will it just grow?

So I can't keep the starfish?

On the star fish I have quite a few in my tank and they have not bothered any Zoas.

some keep them some get rid of them it's really your choice

I suck them out with water changes , I've also lost a bunch of coral to them

the multiply fast , 1 day you have 5 or 6 the next 20 or 30

there really not worth the head ach IMO
