Strange freathery mat of algae? need ID

Ok so this stuff looks similar to cyano on first glance. It is actually feathery looking. It also seems to grow in a mat where the tissue on the underside is white and all the little feathery whisps are a deep purple. Not sure why i am even trying to describe this stuff. See pictures below.

Lots of pictures i know but i figured more was better to try and figure out what this is.
 
looks like cyanobacteria to me too. interesting that it's white at the base. maybe the beginnings of Asparagopsis taxiformis.

 
There may be a little cyano mixed in but i don't think the feathery parts can be cyano. The structure is too complicated for it to just be a bacteria. The white part underneath forms a mat and the purple part grows on top of it. In the top picture you can see how the purple wisps are being blown out of the way by the PH and the white fleshy part under it. It's quite slow growing as well.
 
It looks like what I have in my tank,when I leave the lights off for 2 days it dissapears but will grow back within a day,I have been led to believe cyano doesn't react to light like this,does light effect your problem?
