Toadstool Leather Night/hunting Mode or Parasite

I have noticed that at night, my toadstool leather erupts 5-6 small LONG (2 feet) tentacles that reach half way across my tank. Initial investigation has led me to believe that at night, the leather should just shrink up like my devils hand. I have watched the board for 2 weeks and searched, but have found no info.

Sorry, the pics I took do not show the long tentacles, They look a little like a spaghetti worm, except they are comb like. they reach and pull in bits of other things, worms or brine shrimp when I feed my sun polyps. They obviously bother my fish, because they do not see them when they run into them.

Doesn't sounds like toadstool leather behavior. Are you sure there isn't a worm living under it or something? Are there any openings in the leather itself? I've never heard of anything like that.
