What in the world is this on the front glass?

Noticed this on the front glass of the tank this morning - it wasn't there last night. This is all new to me and I have no idea what it is ... I'll guess either some type of worm, or a long snail turd.

Ding ding ding we have a winner. Thanks to both of you!

I just did a search on google for "cerith snail eggs" and found a picture to confirm that is exactly what this is. I'm sure the eggs will make a nice treat for someone.
