I have had this bubble looking thing growing on LR for a couple of weeks...

At first I thought it might be some kind of bubble algae but when I poked it today it was hard, it's a dark green/ gray color and I have no idea what it is. It's about 1cm big.

Hard to get a good pic but its in the center. Any ideas?

Bubble algae. DO NOT pop them. Remove them (with rock if need be) completely if you can.

Thanks I will remove them first thing in the morning, just out of curiosity what happens if they pop and why are they so bad?

They reproduce by releasing spores, so I u pop them they release all their spores into the tank and u end up with a lot more.

Thanks, I just dug them out with a knife and rinsed the rock with SW. Hopefully I caught them early enough!
