What is this

Its firm to touch almost like a leather coral. Its all folded and wavy, and some of it is tucked in a hole on that rock. Any ideas

That isn't the correct Id. That is lobophora sp. A brown macro algae. Easily confused with padina sp. I have it in my tank, grows like a weed.

I disagree. It's red in color. Click on the link I provided and view the type I said and then view the type you said and make the comparison. I strongly believe based on the picture and description that it is what I said.

I see light brown. Under the fluorescent bulb on my refugium it gets lighter and looks just like that, where it is a very dark brown under my radions.

It's so hard to identify certain species. You may be right.
