What kind of plant is this

I have a green plant growing in my tank and I'm having a hard time identifying it. Is it alge? Good or bad?

Halimeda is a good macro algae, if it is that I wouldnt worry about it at all. Macro can absorb some nitrates so its a win win, plus it looks cool, gives the tank some color and texture.

Halimeda is a calcareous macro algae. It builds its leaf blades using calcium. Grazers won't eat it. It's up to you if you like the look of it or not.

I got rid of it last night. It was soaking up all the calcium in my tank. Eventually I will want coral.
