What might this be growning on my new LR?

I don't have a digital cam but I will try and borrow one, but anyway here goes the description. It looks like it is growing out of a small pods on the rock, about 1/2 inch long, thin at the base and is a flat looking leaf, brown to burgundy in color. Any ideas based off that?

The pic you posted is the same stuff that is growing on my LR. I posted a somewhat blurry pic of it earlier in the week (topic Algae ID) but your pic shows it perfectly.

I suppose that could be it. It would just be in the infantile stage of that. Mine looks much more maroon color. Is this a good thing?
