What species is this scallop?

No picture but most scallops for sw tanks require good feedings of phytoplankton as that is their only food source.
 
As mentioned they need lots of plankton and that would cause major problems in your tank with excessive nutrients. This will cause algae to thrive.
 
If I were you I would look into starting a phytoplankton culture. It's the primary food source of filter feeders such as your scallop there and is safe to feed to your tank when compared to the bottled phyto cultures. Copepods also feed off of phytoplankton.

All you need to grow it is a light, couple of 2 liter bottles, air pump, starter culture and some fertilizers
