Whelk or type of nassiurus?

Trying to find out if this is a good or bad critter found it near the sand bed on a piece of rock but not seen it since it is about the size of a nassiurus and same features but slightly more elongated and a different colour?

Could be a baby conch? That's the shell is in. Maybe a hermit?

Conchs are herbivores – they eat algae and other tiny marine plants.

Some conchs hunt and kill snails..had one thought it was a fighting snail but it wasnt.i wanna say it was a queen conch,but really cant remember the name.

Whelks open on left when holding it towards you only shell I can think of that does all others open to the right just some info
