White fuzz on LR

I just put my first order of 45# of LR in my new 75g tank. Small amount, but building it up.
There appears to be some sort of white stuff growing on a couple of the rocks. It kinda looks like spider webs you see a spider make in a plant or something. Any ideas what it is? Also have some greenish/brownish algae? growing. Is that normal with new LR?

I have the same thing, except it covered nearly everything in the tank. After about 6days its started to disapear. Now I'm getting a orange powder on everything.

Mine eventually "died" after I got my skimmer running (coincidence?) but not before taking the colony in the picture with it.

Yeah, that's what mine looks like. It's not all over everything, just in a few places on a couple rocks. Anyone have any idea what it is? Just part of the cycling process? I haven't gotten my skimmer yet, hopefully in a few days...maybe that will help take care of it.
