Same fish in a brighter light, dim lighting/background/tannin water seems to make them stay dark.

There are some really cool fish in Florida waters! They look awesome. :D
 
Do you know if they are compatible with bettas?

Not sure, but I'll put a few in the Chi with the betta and see how it goes. They are probably fine, they don't have flowing fins and they aren't nippy. They are a lot like bettas in that they spend a lot of time suspended in the water, often around or under cover.

OK awesome!!! I was going to try to get a female but these guys would be way better. Are they best in trios or pairs or what?

Hmmm OK. I'm going to have to look onto them. Can they work as a schooling fish?
