How to take good photos?

Hi I was wondering how to take good photos of stuff in the tank with a phone. It always focuses on the wrong thing... If it is not possible to take good pics with a phone does anyone have a good aquarium camera to recommend? Thanks!

I find moving the iphone towards/back from the object can help but in general these are better at large shots. The later the phone, usually the better the camera but I spent last weekend trying to get a good photo close-up of the head of a fish and it was pretty grainy still. I was also told to try and take the photo at an angle to tank to reduce reflection and check lighting (my lights are very bright).
