I know how that goes too. Here's a good shot of my black kuhli as he swims away from his cute pose I was trying to catch.

Its a 40 tall with angels, corys, kuhlis, Bolivian rams, a keyhole, platy trio, pitbull plecos, rummies, and one lone skirt tetra soon to be re-homed. I love my bottom dwellers.

Can anyone tell me what subspecies of Kuhli he is? I wish there was a site that listed the variations and pictures of the variations!

I have never heard of any kuhli subspecies before or of any identified variations. Have you?

Yes, the half banded Kuhli, the giant Kuhli, the java Kuhli. But I would love to know what sub species mine is!

I will look into those. None of the sites I have ever seen had those listed, except the Java which I have seen as another common name for Pagio oblonga which is usually called the black kuhli, but is actually a different species. Loaches.com and planetcatfish gave me that info.
