Saw the London Aquarium my first day there, within about 3 hours of touchdown, settling in, lunch, and tube-taking. It was roughly $25 to get in, and it is HUGE. Very cavernous with everything sort of set up willy-nilly. FW followed by SW followed by more FW, etc, etc. No rhyme or reason, or if there was I couldn't figure it out. Anyway, of all the pictures I took during my 5 days, I took the most in the aquarium. Go figure. I took all of these with the flash off, so apologies for the haziness of some.

Koi, and they were HUGE.

This guy was the prettiest and also the largest, at least 1.5 feet long.

Rainbowfish anyone? Those onion plants on the right were at least 4 feet tall before stretching across the top.

To give you an idea of size: I could stand on that ledge there and still not reach the top of the tank (I'm 5'6").

Giant gourami: he was at least 1.5 feet long. 8O

Giant everything else. The bala sharks were about a foot long each.

The ultimate cichlid tank. I think Michael should attempt this one next. LOL

Oh, oops. I didn't make it to (or through) the chunnel. So no pics of that. Someone else will have to travel to London and take pics!

Great pics. I love the koi and that huge tank, thanks for sharing.

I do believe the fish in this pic would be a arowana not a Giant gourami.

:)

Ah, OK. Well I was going by the labels and figured since he was giant, he was the gourami. But I know very little about fish I don't keep!

Thanks for the compliment on the koi tank. That's my favorite pic of all that I took.

Excellent pics.

Arowana's(to my knowledge) can break the 4ft. mark. I think the first hint on this one would be the lack of the "tentacles" that are common to gouramis.
