Yep, he is a mosquito fish. There is a Y-linked genotype that produces the melanistic spots. He has two normally colored girlfriends called Sterling and Pearl.

I have upgraded my mosquito fish to a 10 gallon with some pygmy corys. I am hoping one or the other might breed for ne....
