Try starting with some very easy plants like Anubias and Java Fern, different shapes and colors, wide, narrow larger and smaller, lots of choices. These attach to the stones and DW.

New 29 gallon that I’ve had set up for 2 months now. Only have a betta, clown pleco, nerite snail, and 2 dwarf African underwater frogs so far. Slowly adding more fish and not rushing the process. I’m running 2 aquaclear 50 gallon filters on it at lowest flow setting with both filled with biofoam. It has a fully adjustable led light bar with full spectrum lights.

Looks good. Taking it slow is a very good idea. Sounds like room to grow with a bigger tank with that filtration

Ya for sure, I like over filtration because it allows for more beneficial biological bacteria to grow in your filters and keep your tank clean and healthy. Plus the bonus if one filter ever conks out you still have one running

Not to get nit picky but the bacteria bed is based on the life in the tank and not the size or quantity of the pads in the filter or how many filters you have. Having more pad space means there is more space for bacteria to grow WHEN you get more life in the tank. It doesn't grow over time. It grows when there is more food to feed on ( a. k.a. ammonia. ) and shrinks when the food supply diminishes.
With all that said, the tank is nice looking.

Ya I know the science of it and it grows based on more nitrate and ammonia being available, but I wanted to have the space for it to grow.

Just wanted to make sure you knew. Some people think that if you have a big filter you get a big bacteria bed no matter how many fish or how much life you have in the tank. It just doesn't work that way.
