I have some new(ish) additions to my 10g, so it seemed appropriate to post some pics!

First is an ABN who is living here temporarily until my mom can take him home.

Not new, but my 5 serpae tetras have colored up even better here at school than they did at home! They're wonderfully behaved too.

Then finally there are my newest additions. Originally, I really wanted to have hatchetfish in this tank. I could never find marbled or marthae, so I had to nix that plan. Instead, I finished off my little biotope with a pair of blue rams (hi fins because those were the healthiest ones I found)! I think I have a male and a female. They've colored up wonderfully and grown a good bit. The only problems with the tetras they had was at first because they tried to bully the tetras, who were having none of it. No one got hurt and there is peace in the tank.
The female, I think. Definitely the bigger of the two.

The male? Bad pic, but you can see the difference in their dorsal fin rays.

More pics just showing their colors better.

I would go get a cheap 20 long and move everything to that tank. It will open everything up for ya too. Love the pics and fish tho. Rams are a personal favorite of mine

I would also upgrade to a 20g tank. Whether it be a long or tall, your fish will appreciate the space, and its a fairly cheap upgrade.

Also, I think you have 2 female rams. Hopefully someone else can chime in.

As far as i know the females will show a small pink patch in the area just behind their ventral fins, somebody else might want to confirm this but it was true for the two blue rams that i had

Upgrading is not an option unless I want to pay my school a couple hundred bucks.

I'm aware the load is a little heavy (especially with the pleco, but he is, as stated, temporary). I have an oversized filter (Whisper 20i, rated 125 GPH), do PWCs once to twice a week, and feed every other day. I watch this tank for hours every day. If anyone was stressed or the tank's parameters were testing poorly, some of the fish would be rehomed.

I think I posted two pictures of the same ram for sexing...oops. A lot of the pics aren't quite true to their colors either; one smaller early rays on the dorsal fin, and irridescent spotting in the black spot while the other has more developed early dorsal rays and no irridesence in the black. They're also definitely juvenile, so it makes sexing harder. If I can find that I have two of the same sex as they mature, then I will be rehoming one. Thus far, no problems.

No FTS yet because I really need to shuffle some of the fake plants around during the next PWC. Maybe in a couple days?
