Hey guys, I'm needing some help with a huge project. I got a 125 gallon aquarium from a guy with a nice stand but the tank is in bad shape. The corners are all apart on it and the silicon job was horrible! I have just finished scrapping all of the old silicon out. The bottom of the tank was broken but had a new piece of glass laid in on top of that (is this ok?). Just needing some help from someone who has experience rebuilding a tank. Will attach pics! Please let me know if I'm in over my head and should just sell it!

for sure you are going to want to replace the top frame that is cracked as for the bottom plate, im also looking into how to replace something like that so i will be following along

What would be the best way to replace that? Metal, wood? Should I use liquid nails, jb weld? Also more pics attached. A lady at the lfs told me I should just throw the tank away, I said no way!! I know there is something I can do to fix it. After all they have it in pieces to make it, so what makes fixing it any different?

if you go into your LFS they should sell replacement rims, that or you can order them online. other than that, you could take it completely apart and repace the bottom peice of glass with one of the same thickness and re seal the entire thing.

I think we will take it completely apart... There is already a new piece of glass down there. How good it is I don't know. All of our lfs around here suck so that is not an option. I have found rims for smaller tanks but not a 125. So I guess the search continues. You know of any good websites to look on?
