1st Time Freshwater Sump Design (feedback, please!)

So I've never used a sump before, but am thinking about building and using one with a 125 gallon tank I have planned. (It was that, or dual canister filters)

I'm just not sure if my volume and "spacing" of things is accurate.

I made it from a few designs I found offline, but I could have misunderstood some basic concept (like overflow, or something...)

Thanks in advance for ANY feedback!

(If you think it's complete overkill for a heavily planted and stocked 125 gallon, let me know. It just seemed better than 2 cannister filters...)

Ah, and the "open space" between the heater & ceramic rings would be different layers of various media... (carbon, purigen, etc.)

Love that you are bold enough to make this!

I have recently gotten a Sump which cam with my SW tank, and it is scary looking, lol. Have to still set it up this week.

So I will be very interested in seeing how this works. I have FX5 canister filters for my bigger FW tanks. Which I love btw.

What size is the proposed sump going to be?
