I had a moonlight kit several years ago. One thing I always liked was how the blue "rays" of light would shine into the water and spot on the gravel below. But, with the lights evenly spaced and pointing straight down, I thought that this time I could do better.
So, here's what I have in mind... put all 7 LEDs in a 1" by 4" box set on the top of my 75 gallon aquarium, but off from center. This will be the "moon." Each LED will be set at different angles so that they create rays in the tank. I bought LEDs with a 12 degree viewing angle, so hopefully they will spot just the right amount.
I'll post pictures of the project.
