Algae Scrubber + Sump

Hi guys I was thinking of building a DIY algae scrubber because it sounds easy to make and very good basis behind it. I was wondering if I have a algae scrubber + a refugium (that i am growing Chaeto) , will the scrubber drain too much nutrients for my chaeto to grow? Opinions and advice appreciated, thanks~
