HI Everyone!!!
Has anyone ever built their own tank from scratch? I mean like a 50, 75 or 100 gallon tank. I would like to try but not sure where to start. Anyone have any ideas, besides go to Petsmart? (LOL) I know silicone stinks so do it outside, well ventilated area. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The biggest thing is to make sure that you have enough bracing to hold the tank tightly together while the silicone is being applied and drying. I have done it out of 1x1 pieces of wood. Also, depending how many gallons you will need to make sure you build a permanent center brace.

Also keep in mind proper glass thickness. There is a calculator some where on the web. Maybe do a search.
