De Rimming 125 gallon

Bought an older 125 that has real wood trim. Previous owner neglected it and did a terrible pint job on it so I was in the process of restoring the wood but had to take it off to fully fix it. I like the look more without the rim and it has a glass center brace so I was wondering if adding glass strips all around would do the same as the wood trim?https://imgur.com/gallery/JJNrzdi

Prob so. I'm no expert on it. But that's how they basically do acrylic tanks
