diy calcium reactor?

hiya guys i am thinking of making a diy calcium reactor, and doing this by using this:

and doing this by filling it with some calcium media, and then having two hard bits of piping feeding into it, like this:

one is coming from a feed off my fluidized bed and will be amount fed by a air line clamp, and the other a feed from my co2 set, which is ph set.

so one will have water flowing into it which will slowly fill up the jug and the water will flow out using the lip in to the sump, as will be in the sump and the other will be the co2 supply which will have gone through a bubble counter first.

the hard airlines will both go to the bottom of the jug so to get in contact with as much of the media as possible.

do you guys think this will work or a total waste of time?
