diy canister filter/ aquaponics setup

I am probably gonna do this. I will have gravity pull water down from the tank and into a bucket through filter media, then into a pool where It then gets pumped up to a bamboo plant above the tank. Then gravity would pull it down from the plant pot thing to the fish tank. How that for homemade simple aquaponics? Lol
