I am thinking about starting back up my 90 gal and its been a while. lighting was always an issue for me. i have seen some info on other sites about using sho cfl's to do a cheep lighting setkup.

i was curious as to people's thoughts.

my aquarium will be behind a wall so ugly is okay and i like pendant lighting anyway.

here is a link to what i am talking about
SHO, CFL Lights, Compact Fluorescent, Lighting, Lamps, Bulbs for Hydroponics, Aquarium

would this work on a 90 gal reef not wanting to do hard corals or clams?

thanks

Those would probably be fine for fish only. I really doubt they would be good enough even for soft corals. Maybe some low light mushrooms and zoa's, but not much more.
