So, I decided I would like to have my tank open top (it had a crappy hood)
Didn't fancy buying a whole new light fitting as mine suits me fine (only power compact *T8
This is built out of drain guttering (PVC
) the reflector is screwed inside as usual, I cut a groove on either side of the inside, this is where the condensation "panel" clicks into, preventing water splatter on the bulb.
I cut a notch on either end so it sits into the tank, finished it off with a few end caps made from an old tank hood.
Not the best thing in the world but it looks pretty clean, does the job just fine too!
