Tossing around ideas and trying things today for a powerhead filter. This tank is still fishless cycling so its a good time.
Using an old Aquaclear powerhead 201, I'm trying to come up with something that will add additional surface agitation (see airline attached to output) and benefit from filtering on the input side. This is what I done today
Airline to venturi valve to add bubbles thus creating surface transfer. Bottle is filled with filter floss for mechanical filtering, but will the straws work for bio? I've seen many fluidized bed filters use straws as media before, same concept right? Or will this not work since the straws are not moving?
