thought I would share my experience and design.
I used 1/2 inch PVC pipe for use with a fluval filter
I bought a 5ft precut piece of PVC for $2.39 , 2end caps $.39 each, and a T splinter for $.67 ..
I used a hacksaw to cut the PVC pipe .. pounded the pieces together with a hammer. the put holes in it with a hammer and a nail
