Thought if share my lil sump building project. It's still in progress obviously, I got the plans online from one of the thousands of places and thought I'd give it a try. Also you'll notice instead of glass or plexi glass, I'm using cutting board purchased from Walmart (great idea from Mr X) . Its much easier to work with and more cost effective. Feel free to hit me with some feedback or suggestions,

Looks good, how far apart are your baffles? It looks like they're a little close, but that's just me.. How'd the cutting board do in terms of adhering with the silicone?

They are 1/2" apart. I doubled egg create for accurate spacing. I think it looks a bit closer because of the silicon everywhere. As far as it bonding, it's doing really well actually. ( check out mr x- he has some Better photos of his system with it). I'll get my shipment next week with my overflow box, return pump, sock , media etc so I'm excited to see if it works!

Can I plumb a dual overflow into a single like this? Anyone? Bueler ? Thanks!

You can plumb them into one. If you do use 45 degrees not 90's.

Why not use both overflows? Send one line to skimmer section and other line to refugium. Then you can control flow thru refuge since you want a slow flow.

So I completed the sump, installed it... And big fail.

The first 2 pictures are the first attempt. So after the baffles all came loose, I broke it down and bought a better silicone. Also I put pics of how input lil braces in between the baffles for additional support. Finished her up and the last pictures are it working away

Ya I put the order in but I guess it's hard to come by at the moment

Reefs2go.com is good site. Check it out. They have great deals in pods to seed your refuge. I have ordered pods like 4 times in past few years. Very happy each time.
