Follow pictures left to right

step 1 (picture 1): Supplies Aqua Clear 20 Filer with attachments, extra black elbow, filter black coarse one, and a bag of marina zero-carb.

Step 2: Heat long end of black elbow over your electric stove by spinning slowly like you roasting a marshmallow not too long it dosent need much heat.

Step 3 (picture 2): slide clear plactic fitting into elbow, filter end first this will flare the opening to recive another fitting. dont puch to far just enough to flare opening.

Step 4 (picture 3): Quickly slide clear elbow into flared end of black elbow and cap with black filter end.

Step 5 (picture 4): drop essembly into your aqua clear filter. add a bag of zero-carb with your black coarse filter in front of it you might have to cut to fit siccors will work hook onto tank fill with water and plug it in DONE! homemade skimmer with nothing more then extra parts.
 
mine seems to work great and if you have a filter in there it works great to establish a new aquarium too if you try it let me know how things go
