filter floss

i got a question
is the filter floss at petstore the same as pillow floss that walmart sell? if so is it safe to use pillow floss in aqua?

im plan on using some floss to do a DIY projec for my 300 gallon

It's very possible that it's the same. It the stuff at Walmart is 100% polyfill with no added colors or scents, it's probably ok to use.

Yes, as long as it is 100% polyfiber you shouldn't have any problems. I have been using the same bag for years in both my tanks. It can also be used as a prefilter by wrapping some around the intake and use a rubber band to attach it.

there are a ton of stuff we can use in the aquarium not marked for that use.... as soon as a item becomes a specialty they mark it up.

Yup it is the same and I use it to great success. I put some in lightly in the first basket of the canister filter and then some more tightly packed in the second. It does a great job in clarifying the water.
