So I was thinking of making my own tank because I thought it would be cheaper to make. After doing some research online, I found that Home Depot sells RF Supply glass in different dimensions for a fairly cheap price. Has anyone used this glass before in making a tank? If not, where do you recommend purchasing glass? Would it be cheaper to go to a local hardware store?

I would recommend a specialized local glass shop..... I've got one real close, and they're a lot cheaper than going to a hardware/home improvement store.

Your average windshield replacing company will actually replace any kind of glass as well as cut it. Since car windows break more than anything else thats what they advertise for but they usually have it all.
