I have a Berlin XL. I HATE the way it was the barbs for tubing at the exit, and it's mad noisy. I'm kinda dumb when it comes to this sorta thing, but does anyone know if I can simply unscrew the barbs and replace it with some sort of
PVC outlets? I'm going to be using it in my
DIY 'fuge (probably a 55gallon, though I'd like input on recommended sizes...my display is 120gal). Is there an easy way to drill a hole in the side of a glass tank like that, or should I just use my mag-drive 950 submerged? I can always buy me another one for the return line. If I can alter the outlet, I'll me able to design my 'fuge to support the skimmer and all I need. Thanks for any and all help!
[edit]The Berlin XL is HUGE, so that's why I was thinking a 55gallon. I need room for my heaters, my skimmer, the 'fuge area, some no-bubble baffles, and some sponge/eggcrate under the skimmer output and then entry plumbing to keep things quiet...wutcha think?[/edit]
