idea for moonlights

no doubt, those pics were taken with my cell phone btw. so what do you think? im going to take the circuit to my house this weekend and light up my fw tank to see what it looks like on it.

I forgot to mention that the 10 mm leds get green on the edges as you get them further away from the wall. What i figured i would do to reduce corrosion is put the actual circuit in a box above the hood and run wires only to the leds along the hood itself. may produce a little xtra resistance but may be able to push them further using less resistance. we will see.

No, I have one 12 inch CC running at 7volts over the 120 gal, and 4 1000mcd blue leds over my 33 gal.

The leds produce a nice effect when it is dark in the room, but the CC over the 120 gal puts out too much light and over powers them so it is hard to tell they are even on.

hey everyone I finally installed the moonlights, preterp... did you use two CC's on your 120?

really?? wierd... I gave my friend a CC tube for his 80 gallon reef tank, and we gave it 9 volts, but it seems to be doing just fine, doesn't seem that over powering at all...

Finally got a shot of my 120 gal African rift lake tank by its CC moonlight.

Moonlight: 12inch blue ColdCathode PC case light at 6.5volts.
Exposure: Nikon 5400 @ 10second exposure, F4, asa50, manual focus.

hey nice!, I used an odd lighting.. I got a cc rounded tube off a CPU fan... so a circle blue cc tube. I tried taking a pic but the pics weren't coming out. But anyway it does look great. a little lower in light than yours preterp.. yours do seem a bit bright as you said... wierd considering my friend has the same as you on his 80, but we have it at 9 volts..
