I have a metal halide pendant from coralife (175 Watt). I need to add more wattage for my new 90 gallon tank but dont want to add another pendant. I would like to make a canopy but would I be able to cut the bulb out of the pendant and place it in the canopy along with some retrofit PC? I have no idea if that is possible. I am on a limited budget so would like to add wattage as cheaply as possible. thanks for the help

Thanks for the info. Is there a way I could use the overdriven NO along with the metal halide? Dont want to get rid of it If I dont have to.

Well I went ahead and purchased a PC retrofit coralife aqualight 4x65 watt set from captivereefs.com I also purchased a reflector for a MH. I made my canopy today as well for my 90 gallon tank. Will I be able to connect the pendant light to the reflector? Also how much room should I leave between the MH and the PC lights? TIA
