I have a 40 gal breeder tank that is in the cycle process. I had a custom stand and canopy built for it. I ordered the Marineland Double Bright 36"-48" LED system for the tank to mount it up in the canopy. When I received the light in the mail I went to put it in the canopy and it was a little long. So I thought about cutting a slot out of the canopy for the led to fit that way and then I would be able to access the switch from the outside. I really didn't want to cut into the canopy, so I looked into modifying the led. I took the end caps off the led and cut 2 1/2 inches off each end and the put the end caps back on. Now it is mounted inside the canopy and it came out great, you cant even tell except now the "M" and the "A" on the Marineland logo are missing.
