i wanted to put something besides feeders in this tiny little tank, but you really cant "filter" a tank this small. you can addan air pump, but even most sponge and box filters will take up most of the room in the tank. so i decided to go a little crazy with it, and build a HUGE wet/dry filter for it, just out of boredom, and for the fun of it

drilled the tank, and added bulkhead fittings

then i threw this little filter thing together real quick to do a wet test.

now to build a filter.

Actually, that was just something I put together real quick. I'm planning to build a wet dry that's at least 20g.
Right now its only running off a small wet/dry, maybe holing 3g with a 60x/hr turnover, and a 20x/hr re-filtration system inside the sump. Currently, my re-filtration system is more of a theory than anything, but I figure, AquaClear uses it... Mahzwell
Lol

well, looks like im just going to do another quick 5g bucket wet/dry this time around. still have to find time to get to the hardware store and find a 20g container that is the right shape/size to fit under the tank.

yeah, my plan was a 1g display with a 30g sump. lol
right now, im just putting together a quick 5g bucket sump.

the beginning...

bucket... check.

now i just need to fashion a driptray, and put the poly fill on top. oh and make a hole in the lid for a spraybar.

i moved my little gsp out of his tank in the bathroom for now because i was testing the tank. i never got around to putting him back in the other tank.
im thinking saddleback lizard loaches and plants. theyre hillstream loaches, and will love the current in the tank.
besides that, the only other thing i could think of was maybe some gold nuggets, or some other dwarf pleco and some small pieces of DW.

lol, this is funny. I don't think i would do it but it is still funny.

yeah, this is what happens when i get bored, and have no current projects to work on. lol.
i do still have to make 2 75g stands for the tanks wasting away in my back yard. but that has to wait for the weekend, when i can pull out my tools again.

looks like i have to put the bigger sump on hold for a little while

went and picked up a couple of green neons today, now i just have to soak the DW and unpack/plant the ferns. hopefully the wood will be soaked through in the next couple of days

next up. when the DW sinks, i am going to shape it. and tie some more java ferns to it.

hopefully the neons come out for pics tonight

Where did you get that wood?? That is exactly what I have been wanting for my tanks! I want skinny branches like that so it looks like roots coming down from one corner in all my tanks.
