Never Thought of This for a Sump

This is someone's temporary tank, but this picture made me realize how cheaply you can make a nice sump. You could even cover it as most of these colors come with perfect fit cover.

I know lots of people using rubbermaid tubs and trashcans for sump/refugiums. Great way to do it on the cheap.

But really, $10 for a 10gal, and $30 for a fuge kit on ebay with precut baffles and such. $40 isnt bad if you ask me. Sure beats the crap out of $100+ at the LFS for a tiny 10gal.
