I've been donated some nice 8mm thick clear acylic sheets. Enoough to make a good size breeder tank. So I'm going to arm myself with some aqua silicone and......... Haven't a clue from there :)

When making an acrylic tank the preferred method for bonding and sealing is using a solvent (such as A can of WeldOn 4) to melt the seams together, it is much stronger and will in theory never need resealing.
 
Yes, I have heard that silicone doesn't adhere too well to acrylic.
 
I've done a fair bit of acrylic work on my own stuff. I can tell you without question that you do not want to try silicone for your project. It will not end well.
