I am considering creating an underwater sandfall for an aquarium I'll be making in the future. I would just like to know some of the overall pros and cons to having a sandfall in my aquarium, specifically the cons.

I read on another forum that the constantly falling sand can be hard on the fish's gills and eventually cause breathing problems. Is this true and is there any thing else I should know about before pursuing this project?

I would think that if the sand is heavy enough and falls normally it shouldnt hurt the fish. How is the sand fall any different than a fish just stirring up a sand substrate.
Ive been building one in my 55 and can see how it would hurt the fish.
