ptfe plumbers tape

does anyone no whether this tape is safe for aquariums. i have a marina battery operated gravel cleaner. the comb gaps are too deep and this causes the machine not to operate properly. ive seen a video on youtube of some wrapping selotape around the comb to make the gaps less deep and it operate perfect. i dont want to use selotape because i think the glue on the selotape could harm my fish. so i was going to use ptfe plumbers tape. it will only be put in the aquarium when i do a gravel clean.

Since the tape in usually on an outer connection that shouldn't touch the water, you shouldn't have a problem with any plumbers tape. Just have to do a clean job putting it on and you'll have no issues regardless.
