Have been offered a 75 gallon tank for free, however the bottom glass is cracked.
Can one just add a second pane and silicon it in, or do you need to remove the old first?... If I need to remove can someone tell me what all this double pane stuff I've seen is? cause up to now I figured it was a cheaper way of building a tank

Hmmm, no ideas or comments yet huh..ok, how about I remove the bottom piece and use sealed plywood instead?..sort of a half plywood build? pluses to this would be ease of drilling for under tank plumbing...custom hard scape ect...course I haven't heard back for the gal either so who knows

well its been two days since I last heard from her so who knows...seems I would be best off getting it and reusing the glass in a plywood tank.
